Some payment terminals connect directly through a cellular network. This removes the need for nearby Wi-Fi, although the terminal is still processing the payment online.

Before relying on one, check which network it uses, coverage at your regular locations, battery life, whether cellular service costs extra and whether the device switches automatically between Wi-Fi and cellular.

Understand Supported Offline Card Modes

How to Prepare Before You Perform

Test the exact location because coverage can change between neighbouring streets, stations, arcades and crowded events.

Run a low-value test. Confirm that the correct artist page opens, checkout loads, the connected provider is active, the transaction appears in your records and the confirmation page works.

Check that the QR code is large, clean, free from glare and clearly associated with your artist name. Position the NFC access point where people can reach it without entering your performance space.

If the location regularly has no mobile coverage, retain cash as a backup, consider supported offline POS hardware and display a short artist URL. Do not claim that an online checkout works fully offline.

If you use an offline-capable terminal, reconnect within the provider's required period and confirm which transactions succeeded. Do not treat pending transactions as settled income until the provider has processed them.
